Fiona Bruce Solicitors

I was commissioned to redesign the firm’s logo to replace the firm's existing existing logo, which was a disjointed mix of elements that did not legibly display the firm’s name.

My solution was to design a logo that was cohesive and readable, as well as thinking how to make the logo reflect the ethos of the firm. I wanted the logo to be contemporary and friendly, but also business like. I chose Calibri and Garamond as the two logo typefaces. Calibri is a typeface with lovely open counters and rounded terminals, and fitted well with my idea of the logo communicating the friendly, accessible ethos of the firm. Garamond, on the other hand, gave the logo an element of gravitas suitable for a firm solicitors. On completion of the new logo, I was commissioned to design and print the firm’s stationery.

The stationery was designed to be clean and modern. Initial designs for the logo and stationery had included the gold used in the previous logo. However, this was dropped in favour of silver — gold being perceived as old fashioned, but silver much more contemporary.

Subsequently I have produced brochures, displays, advertising and signage, keeping to brand guidelines.
